Sharon Buck: ISO Director

Sharon Buck, ISO Director, has been working her way through the industry before partnering up with Gray to form SCS in 2017, now known as iso360.io.

She began her journey at University of Glamorgan in South Wales studying Business for 3 years, and to top it off, achieved a 2:1.

Cardiff became Sharon’s first home, and she was living and working there for 4 years, prior to starting University.

Sharon spends her days providing services including ISO27001, ISO22301 and ISO9001 consultancy along with Data Protection services for our customers.2022 has seen an increase in using Zoom for calls now, and as a company we are regular users of this too!

We asked what made Sharon want to get into the industry, and her favourite thing about working within it today:

It's ever changing, so no 2 days are the same.

There is always something new to learn and bring to the business. As unusual as it may sound, I do enjoy working in a male dominated industry, and being a female business owner in Cyber Security is quite unusual, I like showing the men how it's done!!

Prior to covid, iso360 director enjoyed travelling to different sites for work, and was able to network with clients during this time so hopefully that will gradually start again post-Covid.

Other than working with customers, Gray and I spend time on running the business, raising invoices, paying bills, talking about what we are working on, and what we have planned for the next week/month etc.

What are your future aims for the business iso360.io?

We would like to get to the stage where we have a bit more time to focus on developing the business. We would like to move into more reseller agreements for software products that compliment our business so we can offer the full package to customers.
